Do You Need a BISSELL Little Green Machine? Product Review

Hey readers, today I wanted to talk about the BISSELL Little Green Machine. This past two weeks in my home has been rough, and I when I say rough I mean MESSY! We had a horrible stomach flu run its course through everybody in the house. My husband was fortunate and missed out due to him being away for work (lucky him). So, I was left with no one to help poor sick me and two sick children.

On a total side note… If there is any chance your child, who sleeps in a bunk or loft bed, could vomit don’t let them sleep in their bed. Just don’t, it is soooo not worth the risk. My daughter, who had not shown symptoms of the stomach flu, woke up vomiting. She didn’t make it down the ladder in time. I came into the room (remember that I have the stomach flu too), turned on the light and it was the most horrific thing I could have possibly seen. Lets just say puking from six feet up makes quite the mess.

Why do you need an upholstery/carpet cleaner?

Here are my reasons:

Kids: Well, when you have children, life can get pretty messy. Actually, really messy like the above example.
Pets: This is actually reason number 1 for why we went out and bought this little cleaning tool. During our rough week we also dropped the ball on making sure our dogs made it outside one morning. Charlie (our rescue beagle) decided to relieve himself all over our newish couch.
Adults: As much I like to think that I am perfect and never make mistakes, I do. I have spilled my fair share of drinks or dripped ice cream on the rug or couch. Basically, accidents happen, and they happen by all.
Car: I don’t know about you, but it seems like no matter how hard I try to keep my car clean it just gets destroyed each family outing or day of errand running. One rainy day or trip into the desert and random spots or smudges seem to appear on my seats.

The Bissell Little Green Machine

We were motivated by the weekend’s huge messes to run out and buy this little cleaner. I had looked online at the various handheld cleaners and after reading tons of reviews on this sort of product, decided on this one. The lower price point of the Bissell Little Green Machine and the decent reviews had me sold. I needed to do whatever I could to rid my favorite piece of furniture of the horrible dog pee odor and stain. After using this product on my couch, rug and a chair in my daughters room that had been hit by the “flu”, I though I would share my thoughts on it.

Pros:

Low price point compared to like products, I found it priced at $100 or less.
Easy to assemble, there are only two pieces that you need to attach.
Lightweight and easy to carry.
Has excellent suction.
Does the job, it cleaned and removed stains from my upholstered couch, chair and rug.
Easy to clean after use, just rinse out the pieces and air dry.
Stores easily, the hose wraps around and snaps into place, and cord has a place to wrap-up.

cons:

Loud, like really loud.
Does not actually steam clean, the only heat comes from whatever temperature water you put in the tank.
Hose isn’t very long or flexible.

Would I recommend it?

Yes, I would recommend this product. I personally don’t need a big floor steam cleaner as my house is all tile expect for a few rugs. I can very easily use the Bissell Little Green Machine to spot clean my rugs as needed. This little cleaner wraps-up and stores neatly without taking up a lot of space, which I love. It is lightweight and compact making it easy to pull out and clean up messes quickly. This cleaner is so compact that it can actually be stored under my kitchen sink making it super easy to grab in a hurry.
