Hi there readers! Every so often I like to share what is going on in the life of ZonaMom and family. Just a little “ZonaMom update”.
Still waiting on that new home…
We have been anxiously awaiting the completion of our new home. Unfortunately, our move-in date keeps getting pushed back. Our family has been looking forward to starting this new chapter in our lives but with each delay we feel like it may never happen… even though of course it will. Delays are normal when getting a new home built, but the unknown has this over-planner feeling l little anxious.
New parenting challenges…
The “Tweenager”
As you may know I have a “tweenager” that is about to turn 12. Everyday is a new challenge with parenting her. Seriously, I am starting to think that her eyes are broken because they are CONSTANTLY rolling. We recently set her up with a Greenlight account so that she could learn how to manage her money better. Also, the Greenlight account makes paying her allowance and babysitting money super duper easy. If you want more info on Greenlight check it out the website here. I have also been doing some birthday shopping for her on Amazon. Do you want to see what I purchased for my soon-to-be 12 year old, gamer and artist? If so check it out below…

The Toddler
Our nights have become long and restless. I wish I could be one of those mom-bloggers with sleep tips, but unfortunately this is not my life or area of expertise. My son has NEVER-EVER been a good sleeper. Out of desperation for a good night of sleep I ordered a homeopathic sleep aid to try out. So far, we have only been successful at getting the little guy to sleep in his own for about two hours. We even switched his crib into the toddler bed set-up because in an effort to let him “self soothe” he bruised his chest banging against the side of the crib. Then almost fell head first to the floor in an attempt to escape. I guess we will just have to keep wearing him out during the day and stay consistent with the new bedtime routine.
This week’s fun…
This week ZonaDad (my husband and father of my children) came back home from a couple of weeks of travel work. The kids are so happy to have him home, even though he is still working a bunch, they love getting to see him before bed and in the mornings.
While the tweenager was at school Monday, my mother-in-law, nephew, grandma-in-law, son and self went to McDonald’s Ranch Pumpkin Patch. Seriously guys, it was so much fun for the toddlers. They were both able to ride a horse, my son LOVED IT, he actually told me that he wants a horse now. My nephew, however, had more fun panning for gold. There was so much to do there, a petting zoo, rubber ducky races, bounce house, rock wall and sooo so much more. If you are in the North Scottsdale area, check it out with your kiddos.
Preparing for…
Me, being the over-planner that I am, am preparing for our trip to San Diego for MommyCon. I am getting so excited for this trip and am so glad that my husband and kids will be joining me. Also, I am looking forward to sharing my experience at MommyCon with all of you. There are some great speakers and brands in attendance, PLUS I hear that the swag bag is pretty impressive. So stay tuned for my MommyCon San Diego 2018 post.
Coming up on ZonaMom…
Lately I have been spending a lot of my spare time (not there really is any) working on learning materials for my toddler. We have been working on learning numbers, shapes and the alphabet. Since I like sharing so much, I am going to be sharing any and all of my printables with you guys, totally free. This will give you an opportunity to try out new teaching techniques/resources without spending any money (except printing cost). I also have some product reviews coming your way. Home products and kids products. Once again, stay tuned, check back or subscribe to the newsletter to get notified when new posts are available.
