Why use a stroller lock?

Have you had to leave your stroller unattended while at an amusement park, restaurant, zoo, etc?  On many occasions I have and was very anxious about doing so.  Sometimes leaving the stroller at home instead of taking it out just hasn’t been an option.  Longer excursions like the zoo or Disneyland with a young child, for example, a stroller is a must for our family.  Our stroller is not only a place for our toddler to rest his little legs throughout a long day of walking, but it is also were we keep our stuff.  We keep snacks, water, first aid, and so much more in ours.  So how do we keep our stroller and necessities secure?  A Buggyguard stroller lock.

Where to buy…

In my preparations for our family vacation to Disneyland I went to Amazon to find some items that we needed.  I searched for stroller locks and only a few came up in the search.  I always read the reviews and never buy anything that has less than 4 stars with a ton of reviews.  I purchased the black deco style but there are really cute animal stroller locks.  These locks can be purchased at Buy Buy Baby, Walmart and Bed Bath and Beyond.  Amazon link to buy below.

Buggyguard features…

There are some pretty amazing features to this stroller lock.

Retractable Cable:  We had thought about just using a bike lock but having a chain or coiled cable seemed like a pain.  This cable can be extended up to 4 1/2 feet with the push of a button or retracted with another push of a button.

Universal Attachment:  You can always have your stroller lock and never have to worry about forgetting it.  This lock comes with a convenient and durable universal attachment.

4-Digit Reprogrammable Combo Lock:  This lock is so easy to create your own combination and reprogram.  No worrying about lost keys!

Stroller Anti-Theft

With simple loop through one or two of your stroller wheels you can keep thieves from running off with your stroller.  You can lock your stroller to a pole, bike rack or to another stroller.  I have heard that certain places will not allow you to lock your stroller to anything, but running the lock through one wheel should inconvenience stroller stealers enough to not even bother.

Protecting Your Cargo

I like to run the cable through the handles of my diaper bags/cargo and a wheel.  When we are on an all day outing we tend to bring a lot with us.  While I never leave certain valuables like keys, phones and wallets; I do like to prevent theft of any kind.  With my items locked to my stroller it deters people from being able to be sneaky and grab something quickly.  If someone tried, it would probably draw some unwanted attention their way.

Designated Stroller Parking

I highly recommend purchasing a stroller lock.  You never know when you may need it.  As frequent visitors of our local aquarium and zoo we find ourselves separated from our stroller often to enjoy attractions.  I now know that I can put my mind at ease and enjoy my visit without worrying about my stroller.

Have you ever been somewhere where you were not allowed to use a stroller lock ?  I would love to here about how you protect your stroller and belongings in the comments section below.

As always thank you so much for reading!
