Hipsqueak: A Baby and Kids Clothing Subscription Box
Hello Readers. First off I want to say… I’m back! This past month for my family and self has been crazy busy. We wrapped up buying our newly built home with a ton of walk-throughs and inspections. PLUS packing, moving to the opposite side of the county (Maricopa County is HUGE folks). Then, unpacking and getting slightly situated. But I am back at it and you will be hearing from me regularly. YAY, I know you are excited right!?
Alrighty, back to the Hipsqueak box…
While at MommyCon SoCal I visited Hipsqueak’s exhibitor booth and was very intrigued by them. What is not to like about having a stylist handpick clothing for your child then packing it up in a nice box and shipping it right to your doorstep? The day we received keys to our new home, I took the plunge and signed up…
Hipsqueak had no prior knowledge of me writing this review. The opinions here are mine and mine alone. Read my full disclosures here.
How it works:
First you create an account and profile, here you can specify your kids style and clothing preferences. Then Hipsqueak curates a custom box to fit your style and budget. A few short days later your box will arrive at your doorstep with 12 items. You then have four days to select which items that you would like to keep and send back the rest.
Pricing:
Here’s the skinny on the pricing. When you order your box you will pay a $20 styling fee. If you keep six or more items from your box, your styling fee will be applied to your order. Also, if you decide to keep everything in the box, you will get a 15% off discount. My box totaled $82.42 for 12 items, which basically breaks down to $7 per item! Pretty awesome deal if you ask me.
My Hipsqueak Box:
Our Hipsqueak box arrived fast, like super fast, it was really only a couple of days from when I signed up. The packaging was fantastic, it is a very durable black cardboard box, I assume due to it needing to be shipped twice if you decide not to keep everything.

Whom ever packed the box did a wonderful job. I loved every article of clothing in the box. Now, when I signed up I specified that I live in Arizona so seasonal clothing is different here and that I would prefer spring/fall. They nailed it, we received a perfect variety of Arizona friendly attire.
Included in the box was a return shipping label. If you were sending back any of the items picked out for you, Hipsqueak made it very easy. You simply stick the return label on the taped up box (remove any old labels first) then drop it off at a UPS drop off location. Also found in the box was an envelope that contained a thank you card, price sheet, social media information card, and information card on how to sell to Hipsqueak.
Yes, thats right, you can sell Hipsqueak your gently used kids clothing!
If there is one thing that I wish I would have done, it would have been to try the clothing on my little guy before deciding to keep it all. I forget that some brands fit differently and even though a child is the same age as others, it doesn’t mean that they are all the same shape and size. I was lucky and nothing was too small. There were a few items that were big, but at least that means that there is a chance it will fit in the future. So, when you sign-up for Hipsqueak and get your first box, pull it all out and see if it fits your little one before committing.
Overall thoughts…
> Would I do Hipsqueak again? Yes, absolutely! All of the items we received we liked a lot. Plus you do get a lot for the cost, making it a great value.
> Do I recommend Hipsqueak to others? Yes! I have already told all of the moms that I know about it and encouraged them to check out Hipsqueak.com.
> Can you purchase a Hipsqueak box as a gift? Yup, I actually plan on doing so for my friend’s kid’s birthdays or even baby shower gift.
