When I found out my good friend was expecting, I jumped at the opportunity to throw her a baby shower, in this case it was actually more of a “Sprinkle” since it was a smaller get-together and her second baby. In order to stay within my set party budget, I opted to DIY baby shower decor.

If you are a crochet or knitting person you probably have balls of yarn left over from projects. I am constantly looking for ways to use this stuff up and what better way than decorating for a baby shower. Not only does it save you money but these DIY baby shower decorations are super cute!

You may not have some or any of these items in your crafting stockpile, I will include links to items that can be found on Amazon or they can be found at Dollar Tree. I will also continue to update this post with more DIY baby shower decorations as I make them.

3-D Clouds & Pom-Pom Rain DIY Baby Shower Hanging Decoration

  • Foam Board: I picked up poster board sized sheets at Dollar Tree. I have not found these cheaper or even the same price anywhere. Dollar Tree is the your best bet if working with a budget.
  • Wire, twine or yarn: I had all of these items in my craft storage, but if you are looking for convenience Dollar tree has some great floral wire, yarn and twine that works great, what you decide to use just depends on the look you are going for.
  • Yarn, Pompoms or PomPom Yarn: Making your own pom-poms can be time consuming, but personally I enjoy it and find relaxing. If you don’t have a lot of time (which I currently don’t with an infant at home) Red Heart Yarn makes a pom pom yarn which is amazing and would be great as a garland by itself. • Scissors: I am assuming you’ve got a pair somewhere in your home… if not I hear great things about Dollar Tree’s floral scissors. In my house scissors seem to end up missing all of the time (which is concerning) so I ordered a pack of several pairs from Amazon and have a pair everywhere I need them. Here is a link to the set I ordered from Amazon.

“Oh Baby!” or “Sprinkled With Love” Banner

  • Yarn or twine: I used my pomp-a-doodle yarn
  • Wide Ribbon: This ribbon can be found at Dollar Tree, it is wired making it even easier to throw this project together.
  • Sticker Letters: I found these cute glittery letters at Dollar Tree, I needed two packs. If you are looking for convenience Amazon has these super cute stickers and you get a bunch! Link HERE.
  • Scissors: I bought a set of scissors on Amazon that I am very happy with link here.

DIY Baby Shower Tulle Pom-Poms

  • Tulle Roll: I found this tulle on Amazon and it comes in 100 yard rolls.
  • Yarn/Thread: You likely have something already, if not you can purchase at any craft store, Dollar Tree, Amazon, etc.
  • Scissors: I bought a set of scissors on Amazon that I am very happy with, link here.
