October Simply Earth Recipe Box
This is my fourth month of receiving a Simply Earth Recipe Box. I’ve gotta tell you… this box is a lot of fun! I can’t wait to share with you what comes in this box. If you missed my last post about my September box you can check it out here.

October Simply Earth Recipe Box Theme:
This month the theme is all about fall. What makes you think of fall? Me, it’s all about candles, sore joints and dry lips. The October Simply Earth Recipe Box has recipes for all of three, and a couple more! Not only are the recipes fall related, but they also smell of fall.
THE RECIPES:
You should have most of the required ingredients/tools to create these recipes between the Bonus Box they send you and the Simply Earth Recipe Box. However, sometimes you will need items not included. On the previous month’s cards you can find out what extra ingredients you will need for the following month’s recipes.
- Cassia and Balsam Fir Candle- This recipe calls for a double boiler, I used a slow cooker (not one I use for food). You will also need a 2-3 ounce jar. I used these cute miniature mason jars, I think that I found these at Target.
- Cassia and Orange Candle- I only made one candle (my box was missing one wick) but if I had another wick I would have used my slow cooker again. You will need another 2-3 ounce jar if you don’t want to buy one, check your recycling bin for old condiment jars. I had a perfect jar that had previously had capers in it.
- Joint Pain Roll On- You will need one of the 10 mL roller bottles and Almond Oil that comes in your Bonus Box.
- Focus Lip Balm- This month’s recipe box comes with two lip balm containers. You will need your beeswax, solid coconut oil and almond oil from your bonus box to make this recipe. I do recommend having a tiny jar or something similar for the extra lip balm that this recipe produces.
- DIY Aromatherapy Rice Bag- You will need 1-3 cups of rice and a sock or something similar. If you are even slightly crafty you could sew your own bag, I personally like using flannel.
- Fall Diffuser Blend- All you need is a diffuser, all of the needed essential oils come in the October Simply Earth Recipe Box.
What did we think of this month’s Recipe Box?
The October Recipe Box is wonderful. I really enjoyed making the candle and will try to find some wicks so that I can make the other candle recipe and even make more. These candles would make great gifts! The lip balm is great, it was a little messy but smells amazing. The diffuser blend makes my home feel like fall (even though I live in the Phoenix area and don’t really get “fall”). The other recipes are all great too, but these were my favorite.
